We are getting into the swing of things now and our second sessions at garden to table were great.
In the garden
In the garden we have been busy planting seeds and we planted some brassica seedlings in our garden. We are also getting our compost and worm farms in good working order.
In the kitchen
This week we made silverbeet muffins with onion jam and herb butter.
We also made honeycakes for our sweet treat.
Evie baking muffins
Shaking cream to make butter
Daniel the onion stirrer
Oliver's herb chopping skills
Stand out children this week were:
Daniel for being a champion onion jam chef
Enere for loving the onion jam and herb butter
Laila for being great at dishes
Amelia C for always looking for more work to do in the kitchen.
Hello this is Luca from Room17/18. I love the way you were planting some awesome Plants and Herbs.I think i have to do that more at Home. I also love that you are cooking some silverbeet muffins with onion jam and herb butter and some honey cakes. I love reading about it.
ReplyDeleteHi Room 13 & 14
ReplyDeleteWoW! Sounds so good!
I love how everyone is working together to make such cool food.
I don't think i have ever heard about silverbeet muffins and onion jam and herb butter.
Do you always add a yummy treat like honey cakes?
You guys have inspired me to make lots more food like yours!
I also really like how you grow your own ingredients to use to make the yummy meals you have and you don't go out and buy all the food.
I would love to read more each week
Bye
